They have vision and they have short and long range plans that don't land on a shelf. That's why they are successful and we are not. Instead of fighting with them, we should be learning from them. If we had to depend on our politicians to bring the PGA to our county, they would have driven right by us while our politicians were still fighting and thinking about it. Frankly, if it weren't for Oneida Nation, we'd be buried by now. They have brought us nothing but honor, dignity and jobs, unlike the yokels who run this county. As IF all those taxes on the Nation would have lowered our own taxes. Instead, these elected officials would have just wasted it like they waste all the other money they extort from us. That was evident at the VVS meeting! I want to see the anti-progress folks offer JOBS like the Oneidas are offering, but we all know they (Mr. Hennessey for example) can’t. I have lived in Oneida County all my life. This is a great opportunity for both Oneida County and the Oneida Indian Nation. The Nation will add 1,000 more jobs into this area. The Nation has also agreed to make payments to Oneida County, when the Nation actually owes nothing. This agreement will also put an end to on going expensive legal battles. It is a shame that a VERY small, but rude, group of dissenters attempted to disrupt the meeting. Mr. Hennessy once again proved that he has no vision or plan for helping Oneida County, the citizens, or the region. It is sad that he cannot comprehend the Oneida Tradition of working for the Next Seven Generations. If he did understand this concept, he would support this plan.
